Tuck Everlasting (11.2018)

Tuck Everlasting will always be very near and dear to me. This was my first production at Glendale High School (Springfield, MO), and it truly ignited my passion for theatre.
In this show, I was one of only three freshmen in the Ensemble.
I had always been wary about my abilities to perform a dance routine as I never grew up going to dance classes like many of my other friends. But Tuck Everlasting showed me that under proper instruction I can absolutely learn a dance routine (even if it does take me a second to get the hang of it!). The dances we learned varied from whole ensemble routines to small groups, to partner dances.
While performing in Tuck Everlasting, I had the extraordinary honor of meeting the lyricist of the production, Nathan Tysen (courtesy of our music director, Mr. Alex Huff). Though I didn’t have a role with any sort of solo, Tysen really helped all of us understand how to analyze lyrics and musical components to find the true meaning behind songs.
