Charlotte’s Web (4.2022)

In Charlotte’s Web, I had the pleasure of playing Gander.
But along with this charismatic role, I was also the Costume Designer. This was my first time designing a full cast of costumes, and I am very pleased with my work.
Every single costume below was designed and put together by me.
Under the direction of Mrs. Dustina Thomas, I learned how to design stunning and functional costumes, use a sewing machine, and thrift for costume pieces on a budget.
Mrs. Thomas gave me a budget of under $200, and I only ended up spending around $50. The pieces that weren’t purchased were either already in our dressing rooms, borrowed, or made.
While I am still learning how to sew, I am currently not capable of creating pieces from scratch. But, I know how to attach pieces, insert elastic linings, attach patches, connect seams, and even create a set of spider legs!
I also painted the “Radiant” and “Humble” signs shown below. As well as helped in painting the barn and boxes.
